The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
Assuming there's a compatible JDBC driver for your DB, you can use something like JDBCR4 (
https://www.scottklement.com/jdbc/) from your RPG code.

Subject: Accessing AIX Oracle data from IBM i
Okay, to start with let me say I know nothing about AIX and Oracle. So having said that, this morning I was asked how we can use an RPG program on IBM i to access data on an AIX Oracle database.
A little background, we are in the process of removing the AIX systems at one of our locations and as an interim step the programmers want to be able to read and update files on the AIX system.
I found a listing for an old Oracle product call Access Manager for AS/400 (cringe!). I'm hoping there's another method like ODBC, JDBC, or NFS that can be used.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Respectfully,
