It has V5R3 on it...thank you for the links to the support articles. I was
able to find a CLI 5488 twinax console on eBay for a good price so I should
be ready to go when that comes in.

V5R3 was kind of a milestone release. Notably, it is the earliest
release supported by iSeriesPython 2.7. I believe it was also the
first release for which PHP was available from Zend.
So that old box is capable of some surprisingly new tricks.
(I remember tantalizingly discovering all these things while stuck on
V5R2.)
