like
using VPM to create a 2nd partition on a power 7 system. Now I
would
to install V7R3 in that partition. When I use option 1=power on inthat?
the "work with partition status" screen the IPL fails with B200 4158.
I am expecting to be able to IPL from an image catalog. Can I do that?
Have a trial version of V7R3. Downloaded as a set of .UDF files.
Added the I_BASE .UDF file to an image catalog. Can I boot and
install from
list
CRTIMGCLG IMGCLG(V7R3BASE) DIR('/home/v7r3') CRTDIR(*NO) ADDIMGCLGE
IMGCLG(V7R3BASE) FROMFILE('/home/v7r3/B_GROUP1_01_IBM_i_R
S_730-00_lcd8_2288_00.udf') TOFILE(*fromfile) LODIMGCLG
IMGCLG(V7R3BASE) OPTION(*LOAD) DEV(OPTVRT01) VFYIMGCLG
IMGCLG(V7R3BASE) TYPE(*other) Image catalog V7R3BASE, type *OTHER
verified.
I question if I am even setting up the image catalog correctly. Got
this error on the VFYIMGCLG comand when I used the TYPE(*UPGRADE) option:
VFYIMGCLG IMGCLG(V7R3BASE) TYPE(*UPGRADE) Volume I_BASE_01 added to
optical device.
Volume I_BASE_01 added to optical device.

Required image for type *UPGRADE not found in catalog V7R3BASE.
Reason code 2.
Verification for image catalog V7R3BASE failed.
