Re: IBM FlashSystem 900

I have done Proof of Concepts with FS840 but only direct attached and last
month I installed a v9000 (which is NOT the same thing since it has 2 SVC
nodes before the flash modules) to a 720 without any troubles (using Dual
VIOS).
In both cases I had good performance and 0 problems.

We had significant troubles when we first tried the FS900 Flash
Storage unit with a brocade fiber switch in between -- including many
system outages. IBM said it was because we had too high a write ratio (or
something like that). We finally had to go back to direct attached SSD's.
I don't have more details than that, though, as I am not in the technical
support group that handles such system-level issues.
