The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
There are two reason for tape duplication.
1) Make a backup copy for off site.
2) The dup actually reads the back up tape and confirms if it is good.
When a save is done, there can be a problem with the save tape that is not flagged, you will not see any errors.
The DUP will catch any and all bad save tapes.

Subject: Backup media
With a worn out DAT160 backup tape on our production box, I went looking for replacement media.
And I discovered that DAT160 is considered an obsolete format, with availability limited to stock on hand.
Given that we have a rack-mountable E4A, with a DAT160 drive for backup, can anybody suggest any long-term options?
