Check your power settings on the PC. Did the PC go to sleep, shut off the NIC to save power? These will lead the iSeries to not get a response on a keep alive and close the connection. The PC does not receive the close so the session does not know it is disconnected until you try to send data to the iseries.

Subject: iACS 5250 session disconnects after extended period

On Monday I migrated to a new pc with Windows10 Pro, and installed the
latest version of iACS. I started my sessions, on each partition, and last
night when I left the office I left the sessions active but at the sign-on
screen. This morning the sign-on screens were still active but when I
logged on, the session immediately disconnected. All I had to do was click
on the Communications button and select Connect and the session was then
active. This behavior happens on all three partitions. I suspect it's a
timeout somewhere but I am unsure of where to start the investigation.

Anyone have any similar experience and/or remedy?
