It has always been pretty much instantaneous for me Paul but it has been
many years since I have needed to do it.

I'm copying a contact at Zend on this and hopefully he'll know the answer.

How long should it take before I get the confirmation email?

Thanks

I'm sorry I have no idea what you mean by "I can obtain this from IBM I
evaluation and NLV"

The page I referenced you to links to this page:
http://www.zend.com/en/products/server/downloads#IBM%20i
<http://www.zend.com/en/products/server/downloads#IBM%20i>
<http://www.zend.com/en/products/server/downloads#IBM i
<http://www.zend.com/en/products/server/downloads#IBM i>> which is the IBM i
specific page where you request a trial license. Once you get the
confirmation of that request you download the version you wish. If I recall
correctly it will then offer you a choice of two versions which are
basically different PHP levels. Pick which you want, download and install.

As I said in my last post "As an IBM i user you will get 30 days of full
Zend Server Enterprise usage. At that time it will tell you to obtain a
license key. If you choose Basic (which is a common choice) you get support
for one year free of charge. After that you buy a support package if you
feel you need it or just continue to use the product without support."

So there is really no better or worse choice. You will be installing Zend
Server Enterprise - which will downgrade to the basic version if you choose
not to pay for a full license after the 30 days.

May I suggest that you move any other questions to the WEB400 list - there
are lots of PHP folks who hand out there who could also help you.

Jon,

I need to download and install the latest version of Zend for IBM i.
From what I found this would be Zend Server for I 8.5.
Is this correct?
I can obtain this from IBM I evaluation and NLV download site or from the
Zend site you listed below.

Which would be better and is there a difference?

Thanks
Paul

If you look for information on IBM i rather than iSeries you might do
better <evil grin>

PHP is still fully supported, and still free along with the Zend Studio
entitlement that has been in place since day 1.

I'm not sure if it still ships with the OS but you can get
information and find the download links for the latest version of
Zend Server here http://www.zend.com/en/solutions/modernize-ibm-i
<http://www.zend.com/en/solutions/modernize-ibm-i>

As an IBM i user you will get 30 days of full Zend Server Enterprise

Basic (which is a common choice) you get support for one year free of
charge. After that you buy a support package f you feel you need it or just

Im trying to find information on loading PHP onto our iseries (7.1). I
see a lot of information for 5.4, but most links for these are dead. Is
there still a "free" version of PHP for iseries version 7 and above?
