It's been a few years since I dealt with this but I used to regularly see increases of 12% to 18%. Always tried to buy multiple years if possible. Of course, the renewal price after 3 years was a sticker shock.
Even more difficult to justify when your management considers software maintenance "an annuity for vendors".

Have others had IBM i vendors raise their maintenance amounts before? This
past year we experienced a roughly 15% increase in IBM i SWMA. I don't
fault IBM for doing this, nor am I complaining. I am more curious how
common this practice is in the IBM i space and what are the typical
percentage increases.
