Take a look at APAR SE66277. Here is some verbiage from its conclusion:
QNTC cannot handle share name that more than 12 characters, this
fix is to exclude the share names that more than 12 characters
while querying share names from server.
Unfortunately, only a PTF for 7.1 so far, while the APAR is for 7.1, 7.2 & 7.3. You may want to hit (ask) IBM about this for 7.3 (or drop IBM for a more responsive vendor :) )

Oh, and somewhat related... You have NO shares defined on your PC that have names longer than ?11? characters, right? It's some low number like that. Having a longer share name can totally disrupt QNTC, even if you are not accessing that share.
