Again, this is incorrect. I don't think you quite understand yet the
purpose of a mail relay/router that most shops DO use and how to set that
up with your IBM i to send emails.

In regard to your assertion that most email generated on IBM i does get
forwarded to a relay service (you've listed a number of 3rd party relay
services), how are you so sure about that?

20+ years of experience and thousands of loyal loving customers using the
products.

What I do understand is, that is what you offer and promote. What about
those of us who just want to send email directly from our IBM i
applications? People should know that's built-in to the platform - no
internal, nor 3rd party relay is required.

If you've ever worked in a shop they normally have one in-house email
proxy/server/relay (ie, Exchange, Domino, etc) that ALL emails "should" go
through before going to the web.

These days those in house relays are being replaced with cloud systems that
we've already mentioned. That is were the IBM i email system falls short.
(It can also fall short with some in house systems if they require
authentication, secure transport, etc, but that in itself is rare).

Again, you're not thinking of the IBM i sending emails like a PC, that's
the main issue.

Now, here's a question for you, Nathan. What domain do your emails come
from when sending from your IBM i? How many different accounts can you
send email with from your IBM i? Send me one to my gmail account here...
I'm curious.

HTH,

Nathan.
