That is honestly a pretty sad statement. I would expect that a vendor of a reputable product that is expecting to sell their software on IBM i would not require more than two years from the public release to finally support a release!

This is especially true given that they could be in partner programs that give them much earlier access to the software.

Especially in the 3rd party market there is often competition which likely already has supported the new releases!

Larry,

There are some major 3rd party vendor products who have just recently certified there software to run on V7R2, and others who still have not..
Reason we are still on V7R1.
I hope to be on V7R2 by end of 1st quarter 2017.

You do realize that i 7.1 is a six and a half year old release and there are already TWO subsequent releases which DO support these ciphers?

I for one do not expect IBM to spend tons of money supporting old releases when there are many new features and functions being requested every day.

How would that business plan ever succeed.

I have been told by 'people who know such things' that "IBM has no

I have asked for an official statement or link to a page that states
this publicly and will pass this along when I get it.
