Long story, summary:

1) PowerHA not Mimix so backup system not available for Query.
2) ** BUT ** flashcopy is available and they are after Month End stuff so lets flash copy on the backup and use that to query! *** BRILLIANT *** Thank you Thank You Thank you!
.
..
....
Well except the primary admin is afraid the queries across the comm line to the remote site will kill that and refuses to even consider it. (The production Power Systems are local here.) "You cannot understand and will never understand how strongly I am against that idea. If we bury that communications line nothing here will work!" But But But the people running the queries are not here!!!! And currently we're seeing the web site fail because all 6 CPUs are at 100%. But apparently being scared about a comm line issue is worse.

Can you query against their Mimix machine?

We have Robert Bestgen and another gent here this week installing DB2 Web
Query. I asked my boss about going against our Mimix machine instead to
save cycles and whatnot. He gave me an answer like that sounds so
Windows. We have enough beef in our production box that it isn't a
concern. Apparently there are some licensing issues with DB2 Web Query
and we're trying to see if there is a CBU discount.

I wasn't invited to the DB2 Web Query training. This is our downtime week
and I'm tied up with that.
Bad enough I can't go to COMMON anymore but when they're in the next room
really kills me.
