The last two EOS were announced on 9/30. V5R4 9/30/2013, 6.1 9/30/2015.
If this is a new pattern then 7.1 would have EOS announced with their
year's warning NST 9/30/2017 with EOS coming 9/30/2018.
Of course, if you're really into patterns then if the above is true then
rNext would be 7 months to a year after that or maybe 4/2019.

EOS for a release is always prior to the announcement of x+3.

But if there is any scale to the IBM i Roadmap chart (not saying there is
and they've done a fine job of leaving the year number off) rNext
shouldn't be that far out.

All this speculation is based solely on the sources listed above. Solely.
And I mean it.
It might behoove IBM to mix it up a little just to stop such projections.
