Try this
DSPSYSVAL OUTPUT(*PRINT)
It will show you the difference between "shipped" values and "current"
values.

At 7.3 the shipped value for that is *DAILY.

At 7.2-V5R4 the shipped value for that is 5,000.
I checked this at the Knowledge Center. V5R4 is as far back as I checked.

Two things to check:
1 - What is filling up the log so darn much? Never ending SBMJOB loop?
2 - Maybe IBM realized that this value was too small and changed the
default for new partitions at 7.3?

You inspired me to change it on a few more lpars. My "dailys" on my
production ERP lpar are ~40MB
