Ours is an 8202-E4B.

*Big* concern is that our drives will still be supported (all 433C-099), and
NetData macro scripting.

Thanks,

I don't know what an 8451 is.
If you do WRKHDWRSC *PRC what do you see at the top? I see:
Resource Type-model Status Text
CEC01 8286-42A Operational Main Card Enclosure

Try to match that at:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=ssm1platformibmi

I do see mention of an 8202-E4B. This is a Power 7 box.
In general, (read details), Power 7 should be supported on rNext with the
exception of those listed at:
http://www-947.ibm.com/systems/support/i/planning/upgrade/future.html

I would expect IBM to update
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=ssm1platformibmi
soon. :-)

But 7.2 should be no problem on a 8202-E4B

We went straight from Power 6 to Power 8 and had no experience with Power 7.
We were running a LOT of carry over equipment from earlier models on our
Power 6's. IBM i 7.2 obsoleted about everything except the base box.
But we thought we needed disk drives and whatnot so we chose that time to
throw it all out and go to Power 8's.
