This was due to test PTF MF61265, Ethernet process got hung up.
IBM development left something out on the PTF activation instructions.
Same issue I had on other 2 LPARS last week.
Restarted from HMC with dump option.
MSD took about an hour.
LPAR IPL'd fine with no issues.
All is good.

And if you can't sign on because you have auto cfg turned off, and all sessions are varied off then use RMTCMD from your PC, (or ftp session) to vary them on.
Disabling devices upon invalid signon is an effective method to initiate a denial of service attack against an IBM i. It also works pretty good to disable known user profiles like QSECOFR.

If you can sign on from another device try varying on the console device.
I
see that from time to time.

If, not just your regular sessions, but your console session is down also,
then I do not suspect QINTER is your issue.
I would do a Communications, Disconnect then a Communications, Connect and
try to reconnect your HMC console session.

Um, I assume that the lpar has a Status of "Running" and the Reference
Code
is all zeros?

One of my V7R1 LPARs, iSeries Access sessions have black screen.
HMC console session - 0043 Connected - waiting for partition screen data
HMC shows LPAR is running, no SRC codes.

Any thoughts from the group?

I guess I have to force restart the LPAR from HMC.

Thank You
