That's a given. Perhaps it will be FTPS which is a completely different file transfer protocol using TLS instead of SSH for a transport. It could also be a file transfer of HTTP(s). So it really depends on the remote server. Once they find out the support protocols and authentication method, they can start working on their client configuration.

Doesn't the remote server also need to running some sort of SFTP server software, could vary depending on the OS.
