*>Are you looking for those that offer paid or free support? Or both?*

Both.

*>If you're doing open source on the IBM i I see it hard to leave out
CGIDEV2 or anything Scott Klement offers. Not sure why you'd leave out RPG
offerings. But it's your session. :)*

I actually have a slide full of the QSYS.LIB style of open source (RPG) to
make people realize they've most likely already participated in open source
consumption. With that said, this session is more to do with PASE-focused
open source: the side of IBM i that most are least familiar.

*>You may want to extend your invitation to the rest of the world
(stackoverflow.com <http://stackoverflow.com>) that uses the applications
that PASE supports even if not on IBM i hardware.*

For sure. I've listed stackoverflow.com as a resource (probably my
favorite for the past couple years).

*>You may also want to be more specific as to the products you are
referring to. Not an all-inclusive list, but the main ones.*

Good point. Things like Git, OpenSSL, GCC, Node.js, Ruby, Python, PHP,
ImageMagik, joe, curl, wget, ssh, chroot, etc.

Hi, Aaron! :)

Are you looking for those that offer paid or free support? Or both? When
you mention ISVs it sounds like you're looking for ISVs that offer open
source products but charge for support, installs, etc.

A few of us on this list support CGIDEV2 (myself, Jon Paris, to name a
couple). Probably the most popular open source IBM i product.

If you're doing open source on the IBM i I see it hard to leave out CGIDEV2
or anything Scott Klement offers. Not sure why you'd leave out RPG
offerings. But it's your session. :)

You may want to extend your invitation to the rest of the world (
stackoverflow.com) that uses the applications that PASE supports even if
not on IBM i hardware.

You may also want to be more specific as to the products you are referring
to. Not an all-inclusive list, but the main ones.

I worded my question poorly.

I am looking for businesses/consultants that do support (i.e.
install/maintain/help) with open source on IBM i. And I am mostly
looking
for open source that exists in PASE and not open source for RPG.

Aaron,

Would be CGIDEV2 a valid Open Source product for your list?

Also, although *maybe* it wouldn't traditionally be considered as
"Support", I personally consider that the help we have received from
Scott
K. thru the years is just unparalleled...
