Hi,

We have a *LAN IPDS device description configured to use Infoprint Server to convert a SPLF to PDF and store it in the IFS. This works fine most of the time.

Recently we create a new batch process that generates lots of spoolfiles (about 30.000) that need to be converted to PDF. During this process and after generating many PDF's without any problems, the writer suddenly ends. The joblog for the writer shows the following error:

MCH1210 Escape 40 12-02-16 09:59:38,766818 < 000030 QPQRMGR QSYS 389B
Van programma . . . . . . . : cblabranch
Bericht . . . . : Receiver value too small to hold result.

Followed by:

CPF9999 Escape 40 12-02-16 09:59:38,823695 QMHUNMSG *N QPQPDMGR QSYS 0DA5
Bericht . . . . : Function check. MCH1210 unmonitored by QPQRMGR
at statement *N, instruction X'389B'.

It seems to me that the error occurs in IBM-supplied program QPQRMGR. I have tried searching for any information on this error, but have only found a few issues that seem related but are all different from the error on our system. The closest match I found was an issue with generating a PDF file containing more than 1000 pages (PTF SI54142), but the PDF's we are creating are all just 1 page long.

Has anyone ever experienced something similar or does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this problem? We are currently on V7R1.

Regards,
Erwin Donker
