Have some commands from the GO CMDOPT menu been reviewed and\or tested for possible effect? There are Change Optical Attributes (CHGOPTA) and Initialize Optical (INZOPT) for example; neither of which I have ever used, that I recall.

I cannot delete WRKLNK '/QOPT/I_BASE_01'.

Perhaps a chicken\egg issue? Just maybe RMVLNK '/QOPT/I_BASE_01' is disallowed [per msg CPFA0D4 - File system error occurred. Error number 3474. errno3474 msg CPE3474 - Unknown system state.] because the corresponding record exists in the file QAMOVAR, and the row exists in file QAMOVAR because '/QOPT/I_BASE_01' exists? If so, then the request to CLRPFM QUSRSYS/QAMOVAR MBR(QMOVAR) might be required to allow the deletion [a backup of the file member could be used to /recover/ from the clear request if unsuccessful at changing the behavior with any positive effect].?

A Trace of the Remove Link (RMVLNK) might reveal the same file is being accessed; presumably would [have to], if there is a correlation being verified between the directory and the row data.
