Dave, open the WS file with notepad, sounds like it can't find a

No, the problem was that it can't find the actual .WS files to launch the same emulator session.

I just determined that IBM i Access doesn't seem to be able to cope with long windows filenames.

I tried to enable short names but can't without restarting my machine (too much trouble at this point).

As a work around, I used the mklink utility to create a symlink to the "Client Access" directory as "CLIENT~1". I updated the IBM i Access properties (in control panel) to use a "User specified path" for the emulator files. "D:\USERS\DGIBBS\APPDATA\ROAMING\IBM\CLIENT~1\EMULATOR\PRIVATE".

Now, when I use the "Run the same" function, it launches another emulation session correctly.
