System: Power7 720, 8202 E4B, V7R1, AL730_142 firmware, 64gb
memory, 3-Processors active, Cumulative level 14143, TR9, all
other PTF groups & SSD recommends current. Mimix / Journaling
is in play, 5770SS1 42 HA Journal Performance installed,
configured/verified by Mimix. ASP 1 is Production/System, ASP
2 is a low use Development partition.
What type of disk controllers?
Are the SSDs and the HDDs attached to the same controllers?
ASP1 and ASP2 mixed on the same controllers?
Using trace followed by balance assumes when you trace you will
catch the "hot" sectors on disk which will remain hot until you
repeat the cycle. Does this match your business pattern? In
other words, the stuff you read on Friday during the peak is
likely to be the same stuff you will continue to access for the
next week?
