Rob,

I have the same group of patches on.

It turns out that the main problem with the console sessions java exception
happens for one of two reasons. First if there is a "/" anywhere in the
name of the managed system. As far as the name is concerned it's OK to
have special characters in it, just the java starting the 5250 session dies
with it.

Second if you have users that have "embedded names" such as user "IBMDOESi"
and user "IBM". Since the second name is actually contained in the first
name, it pitches a fit and throws the exception.

There are several other items that are going to get fixed in the next
service pack.

If you have a CR8 HMC, and you are running V8 of the HMC code, DO NOT
TOUCH
it until the service pack comes out a the end of the month.

The 5250 screens are busted with a major java error. If your 5250 at V8
works don't make any changes to the HMC code since that will very likely
break it.

Remote 5250 continues to work fine, since the emulator is not running on
the HMC.

I just fought the battle with two HMCs, and well, the code for the 5250
has
significant errors in it.

If you are not running V8 on your CR8 HMC, do not upgrade it at least
until
the new service pack is out. I'll be putting it up right away to see if
it fixes the issues with the 5250 and several other bug holes that I have
fallen into.
