I'm just going to be purchasing 4-5 tapes. This customer probably won't be upgrading
to 7.2 for another 4yrs.

I found an IBM 19P4209 30/60GB SLR60 Tape Media for $96 at NewEgg.com

Thanks,

Gary

There's a difference between ordering 1-2 and ordering 50 to start proper
rotations and whatnot.
If you are doing the latter I suggest pitching that 1/4" tape drive and
getting something that will grow and be supported on newer machines.

What's supported on Power 8 (which includes 7.1 and 7.2)

7.2 drops a ship load of tape drives, (including the 6384). Read the MTU

I need to purchase some backup tapes for a 6384 tape drive.

What's the best tape I should get and where is a good source for them?

I'm in the USA.

Thanks,

Gary Kuznitz
