Rob,

Do your Windows and IBM I user account equal each other?

Ours do not.
Our IBM I are no longer than 8 positions, some LPP have this restriction.
Windows accounts are longer.
Also, one Windows account may have 4 or 5 IBM I accounts, (separate account for each app)

I wish did have some sort of tool.

Paul

Subject: Password synchronization: Windows, Notes, IBM i

Currently we synchronize passwords between Windows, Notes and IBM i using ITIM or Tivoli Identity Manager. In general we were pretty happy with that. However a few things are starting to pop up.
1 - We never got around to implementing the self password reset.
2 - The version is getting really long in the tooth.
3 - Our original consultant is so buried into a large government contract he's pretty much off the list.
4 - There's a few items of concern which need to be addressed.

We looked at converting to a cloud based version of ITIM. Hosted and maintained by IBM. Extreme sticker shock for both the conversion and the monthly maintenance quickly put an end to that. We're still thinking of perhaps keeping ITIM in house but getting upgraded, more fully implemented, and externally maintained by our BP. Going back to manually entering people into all needed disparate systems is not off the table.

What products are others using? Vendors, contacting me directly will not be considered bad etiquette.
