IIRC a more accurate description is that the implicitly created RDB directory entry on a new system to identify the *LOCAL [Remote Location (RMTLOCNAME)] name was assigned a value from the "Current system name" of the "Network Attributes". That system name is displayed with Display Network Attributes (DSPNETA) command and can be set\changed with Change Network Attributes (CHGNETA) command; of course, having no effect on the RDB name, which was already implicitly assigned. I would expect the installation instructions for replacing a system would include both the CHGNETA and either CHGRDBDIRE or the combination of both RMVRDBDIRE and ADDRDBDIRE. Note: RMVRDBDIRE of the *LOCAL entry loses some data, but as I recall an inquiry message informs of what would be lost and therefore implying what might need to be reestablished.
