Yes, Don, Floridians refer to South Florida as the Miami-Dade, Broward (Fort Lauderdale), and Palm Beach (West Palm Beach) Counties. Tampa is in Southwest Florida, Orlando in Central Florida, the I-4 corridor is in North Florida. :-) In a previous LInkedin note, I had a reaction from the Tampa Bay area too.. :-)
There used to be a MUG (Miami User Group) and SNUG ("Southern National" for the tri-county area) meetings happened up till three or four years ago.
Thanks for asking. :-)
I'm interested in helping more of the locals get updated on new technical stuff like service programs and free form and action groups and PHP and other cool stuff. Plus all the other reasons for doing it...

From Don:
Alan,
What you're wanting to form is a local user's group. You may want to define what part of South Florida you're talking...usually "south Florida" is anything south of I-4 :)
There USED to be LUG's in Tampa (DEBUG) and Orlando...I think they've both died the death of IBM market neglect...
