Which release is your system at? If 6.1 or newer you can define SQL indexes
with select/omit criteria. If at 7.1, I seem to remember that the SQE can
use some DDS defined LFs (not very sure about this, though).

Also, in the Visual Explain window there is an option, under View (IIRC)
that can show the most "expensive" icon, be either in processing time or in
number of records processed. Maybe this could give you a hint....
