Why not call an ILE RPG program to strip out the unwanted values? You can call the ILE RPG program from within CL.

Subject: Replacing carriage returns in a data file
Before I forget - we are on V5r4
We have a file that is a non-externally defined file (records contains a string of data - that all of a sudden is containing carriage returns within the data.
I realize that the source of this problem has to be located and rectified, but I was wondering if there was a routine/api/sql command etc. that can easily be inserted into a cl program that will cleanse these carriage returns from the file?
