There's nothing seriously wrong with the JDE Address Book design, but IMHO
the BA is an idiot...

Business analyst decided, let's define sales positions with a permanent
JDE Address Book number, but 'sales people' are not to be in any master
file permanently.
Region1 inside sales position has a JDE A/B# 914
Region1 outside sales position has a JDE A/B# 928
Region1 marketing position has a JDE A/B# 939
. . . (positions for other regions positions defined next)
Employee turnover example:
Two years ago JDE#914 was "Billy Bob"
Then JDE#914 became "Joe Schmoe" for 4 months,
Then JDE#914 became "Sam Salesman" for 9 months,
And finally, JDE#914 is now "Gertrude Gerty" until she leaves.
After Billy Bob left, Billy was no longer in any Address Book master
file, because JDE#914 became Joe Schmoe.
After Joe Schmoe left, Joe is no longer in any Address Book master file,
because JDE#914 became Sam Salesman.
After Sam Salesman left, Sam is no longer in any Address Book master
file, because JDE#914 is now Gertrude Gerty.
Best database implementation ever!
No problems in this design!
