SQL queries. If performance becomes an issue, a new index usually fixes
that.

Do you make all formatting and data massaging on the AS/400 or do you use
the formula features of CR.

CR formulas.

I heard that fastest method for CR is to use their parameters for
filtering, is this so?

Sometimes.
