Hello All,

A quick follow-up to my post in December.

Kim Greene was kind enough to follow up with me today to discuss my concerns regarding lack of .Net content.

I am still not satisfied with how things were handled by the COMMON team, but I applaud Kim for speaking with me.

Bottom line is it sounds like .Net content is apparently not a priority for the COMMON team at the live face-to-face events.

Out of the 300 sessions, I believe there may be one or two in 2013. I understand, but don't like the rationale.

If you would like to see COMMON provide more .Net and other content via mediums such as webinars or online labs in 2013, please let Kim and the COMMON team know your desire.

I am willing to potentially do some speaking and presenting on .Net, but as of right now we're not sure how much interest there is in .Net content thru the IBM i community. (That's you :))

In any case RJS is planning some .Net for iSeries training events for 2013 so please feel to email me if you want more information.

Also let COMMON know your desire for more .Net content if you have any :)

Welcome to 2013.

Regards,

Well Folks,

Looks like I have been essentially eliminated from COMMON speaking :)

They apparently lost my repeat session confirmations and just completed the session preliminary schedule and I don't see any of my sessions listed.

I guess it doesn't pay to complain publicly about lack of .Net content because you get eliminated :)

All is not lost. It does look like there is some .Net coverage and also some jQuery Mobile coverage so hopefully there will be some equal representation this year.

If you're interested in jump starting into .Net with your IBM i in 2013, RJS will be providing more content and I will also be starting a newletter of my own to cover using Microsoft .Net with IBM i.

And if you're as disappointed with the COMMON organization as I am, make sure you make it known.

Enjoy the holidays and if you live near Madison Wisconsin, enjoy the snow cover.

Peace.

Regards,
Richard Schoen
