Rob - I've not notified you yet - sorry - we approved at least a couple of your COMMON requirements and passed on to IBM - will get you details that I can share in the next few days.

Vern,

What happened when you submitted your Design Change Request at:
https://www-912.ibm.com/r_dir/ReqDesChange.nsf/Request_for_Design_Change?OpenForm

What happened when you submitted your requirement at:
http://community.common.org/HOME/IBMIREQ.wgs

I submitted 3 at both of those sites:
1 - Add ability to see short name in the Generate Data Definition Language
(QSQGNDDL) API.
2 - Add ability to see short name in iNav's Generate SQL.
3 - Add ability to specify short name along with long name in CREATE
TABLE.
Maybe when the powers that be approve my requests at COMMON you can just
vote on my requests.

I figure fixing 1 would carry on to 2. For 1 & 2 I gave them the short
term option of Jim's solution of renaming like crazy. Perhaps having to
support that will cause them to just add item 3. :-)

Yes they DO add stuff that's not generally up to spec. Like, do you see a
lot of platforms supporting the RCDFMT clause on CREATE TABLE?
