Any TABLE can be journaled with STRJRNPF; i.e. need not be done
implicitly. But as I had noted in an earlier reply, there is no
requirement to journal if *NC [COMMIT(*NONE)] is correctly in effect,
either for the connection or for the statement [using the clause WITH
NC]. In an earlier reply I had also noted that the "not journaled"
error message SQL7905 gives recovery, and I included in my message as
well, that the QSQJRN *JRN could be created into a library to effect
implicit TABLE journaling. Plus alluding that there is more general
implicit journaling available via QDFTJRN or STRJRNLIB.

Though apparently this message will similarly go unnoticed [¿maybe
NNTP postings are not getting sent via the email LIST as individual
messages <or in Digests?] or otherwise just being ignored... So perhaps
I am just wasting my time trying both to correct the misinformation and
to describe the functionality and possible means to effect a desirable
resolution. Ughh.

But what if I want to keep the table in a library that already
exists? Can I modify the current library to include this statement?

Easiest way is to create an SQL library. Do a STRSQL and type a
CREATE COLLECTION and enter a library name. It will create a
library with journal and all SQL objects. Any table that is created
in it is automatically journaled.
