I did. It was a few years back when I was converting all files from DDS to
DDL.

The issue was date fields. If there was a date field in the record format,
it caused a level check. I opened a PMR and IBM came out with a PTF to
handle it. The developer called me on the phone and said it would only
work (this PTF) if the date was an *ISO date. I said OK as all I ever used
was *ISO dates in the database.

This was 2008 or 2009 timeframe. I have no recollection anymore what PTF
that was.

This sounds familiar. I think Jeff Crosby or someone had a similar issue
with the record format difference between DDS and SQL created tables. But
that was some releases back and IBM had PTFed it. What release are you
running? What levels are you seeing in WRKPTFGRP?

Notice anything different in DSPFFD between the two?

Subject: format level different with dds/SQL
Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi,

I wanted to avoid using OPNQRYF and did this :

CREATE TABLE QTEMP/mytable AS (SELECT *
FROM myfile ORDER BY myfield) WITH DATA
RCDFMT myfile_formatname

But the format levels of mytable and myfile are not the same, despite
using RCDFMT.
Why?
