A previous employer has been trying to migrate their System I workload to a Windows based solution since 2001. They currently say that they are "two years away" from shutting it down. On the other hand, they've been saying that since they were on a 720 running V4R5, through two hardware upgrades, 4 O/S upgrades and now their third Admin.
They are spending $1 million a year on this migration project and every year the System I budget line is $0 (actually maintenance only.)
