I user the nfs export from the iSeries to Ubuntu. It's the only Linux system I've tried. To do so use the -o udp option.

sudo mount -o udp systemName:/QOpenSys/home/400UserId/577 /home/LinuxUserId/wrk/x577

The -o option is not required for AIX.
