I have the headers from two emails. Both are from work. The first was sent from my pc using Outlook. The second was sent from the i. At one point, I had the I set up to use the work email server, which ends up forwarding to corporate, which then sends iton to the Internet.

What I don't understand is how the Received from lines are constructed.

The email from Outlook shows it came from the smtp server at corporate. The one from the i indicates (or implies) that it came from the i itself. The only option I saw that I have not played with in a checkbox indicating mail goes through a firewall.

Is Outlook potentially using something other than SMTP to send email?
