RE: Comparing LPD, PJL, SNMP, and IPP

We had to stop using SNMP. Something about SNMP community strings that we needed to change, but couldn't due to IBMs implementation of the SNMP print driver. No IPDS printers here, so preferred is IPP, PJL, then LPD.

Thanks. We are getting new Xerox printers at work. The older ones, could only be supported with LPD. The newer ones have more capability, thus my question.

document based upon order of preference. A *LAN *IPDS device is the

thread in the comp.sys.ibm.as400.misc newsgroup.
