Jim,

The NETSERVER must be started to connect to a shared folder.
Try using this command to start the server STRTCPSVR SERVER(*NETSVR)
You can also check the server using iNavagator..

Start iNavigator
Select partition
Select NETWORK
Select SERVERS
Select TCP/IP
This will give you a list of all servers either STOPPED or STARTED.
Select i5/OS NetSERVER and right click START if the status is STOPPED.

I am trying to figure out what is not running on my iSeries and
preventing me from mapping a drive to an iSeries IFS shared folder. Is
there something not running or does something need to be stopped and
restarted?
