IBM used to have a utility library (RDFONT) that contained a program
that would generate a font sampler catalog...

I don't know if you can still find it, the only thing I found was
ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/printers/products/as400/readme1.txt

You might try browsing the IBM FTP web site above, (I can't easily do
so from the office)
