You are right of course. Matt's idea (insert a double semi-colon) seems a
nice workaround (although I'll admit that IBM should give us an
user-defined option).

Please be aware that there are several options when you
execute a script. As per V5R4:

CTRL+Y - Only selected (current) statement.
CTRL+T - From selected (current) statement and then,
subsequent staments.
CTRL+R - All statements.

So, even if you have several statements in your script,
CTRL+Y would execute only the current one (where the cursor is).

That's right Luis. But after ctrl y, the whole of the next script gets
selected (highlighted). I say it should leave the cursor where it found
it!!! I haven't tried pressing execute selected twice rapidly to see if it
runs two different scripts.

I shall never leave uncommented updates or deletes in an sql script, that's
for sure.
