Doing a little research on a sales quoting automation project we're doing for a customer.
Would anyone here care to provide input on how their sales quoting process works and how it ties back into your ERP system ?
Also how many potential points of error can occur in the process, such as the quote info getting lost during the transition between sales, engineering, manufacturing, etc.
The customer we're working with is telling us that they want to streamline all the process steps that their order quoting process goes through so that they never again lose an order in the shuffling that happens between the time a request comes in, gets reviewed by engineering and approved, down to the steps it takes to get it entered into the order entry system, built and ultimately shipped.
