Hello,

I am trying to FTP to a remote system and put a file there.
The put works, but the file comes in as a flat file, a DSPFFD shows 1 field.

Yes, that's the expected output if the file doesn't already exist.

I try to do a CPYF to an empty file with DDS, but the to file is garbage.

Not sure why that would happen. CCSID mismatch? Can you describe the garbage?

I tried to create the files first, but I guess you cannot do a PUT
with a replace, at least with the research I saw.

PUT *always* does a replace. That's the difference between PUT and APPEND! Maybe I'm not understanding what you mean?

I tried to sign on to the remote system to try a GET, but for some
reason I cannot FTP back to our system.

What happens when you do this? Do you get an error, if so, what is it? Or does it just hang? A little bit of information would be nice!

Maybe I should call Mr Rogers....

Why? Do you need someone to tell you that you are special, and want to be your neighbor?
