IN ADDITION: Make sure that you have all the printer and other device
drivers you will need BEFORE migrating...we had some major issues here...

Also, DO NOT PRESUME that if your app loaded on XP-Pro that it will on
Win-7-64. We had some issues here - especially with vendors writing their
loaders specific to the version or a lower version that was still supported
but totally bombed on 7-64. And even though they've finally come out with
them since we migrated - some fairly current HP Printers didn't have drivers
for 7-64 for a while.

We had an application from Sage that just wouldn't load so it joined another
app or 2 on a spare fast win-XP-Pro box...was the cheapest solution(Sage
ain't cheep and they drag their butts on app
enhancements/corrections)...mirrored the box and it's run fine for a long
time.
