You have the url displayed on the screen and the user clicks the link and
the default browser will open up the link. Just make sure hot spots are
enabled in your 5250 emulator.

Scott,

Never have seen a URL hotspot in action - but seems 'miles' simpler (or
is there a bunch of programming required?)- if that capability is there
in Mochasoft. I will take another look at the archives.

Anyone have an example of this?

Do you mean for the user to click a URL on the 5250 screen? AKA, a "URL
Hotspot"?

Or do you mean that the user types an option number on a menu, and it
launches the browser with a URL, (typically achieved with STRPCCMD and
ShellExec_RunDLL)?

Both of these have been discussed to exhaustion in the past. Try going
to http://archive.midrange.com and searching on some of these:

* strpccmd ShellExec_RunDLL
* strpccmd FileProtocolHandler
* URL hotspot
* client access url hotspot
