I am not sure that there would be a way to do that from that angle.

I would submit a Design Change Request that RSTOBJ and RSTLIB have a
parameter which says if RSTLIB is not equal to SAVLIB then should tables
have their journalling turned off. And, what should the default response

be? Keeping in mind that a shop which uses commitment control would have

all their testing blow up if the tables were not journaled. Should the
options be: *YES, *NO, *SYSVAL?

That's a good idea. I would certainly say that since I'm asking for
changed behaviour, the default should be to work as it always has.

Another option might be *RSTLIB which says to use the journalling
attributes of the restored to library.

Took me a second to see what you mean--you're talking about a new value on
the RSTOBJ/RSTLIB command that would have options for *YES, *NO, *SYSVAL or
*RSTLIB? At first I thought you were saying that RSTLIB (or some
parameter) already worked that way. That would fit better with their
implementation of STRJRNLIB.

Ideally I would want the ability to journal a library and know that all
activity within the library is journaled, without having to see the
individual files listed under WRKJRNA. It would be less of an issue if I
had set up the journals, but JD Edwards wants to journal everything to
OWJRNL/OW_JRNL. Having multiple libraries all point to one journal means
that I'm weeding through ~5000 entries to find the few files that have been
added by copies/restores to different libraries.
