Mmm - is the data flagged with different CCSIDs in the fields? Or is there data that is non-displayable in one of the tables? Like values below x40? Including x00 (null)? That can force the entire value to be displayed in hex, since it doesn't do the blob thing like DSPPFM does for those non-displayable things.
