Well, the reason for an override is to change something. I know you know that. We can only guess without detailed information. I will take a couple guesses based on things I've done.

What else is in the CL? Are there OPNQRYF commands? Those require an OVRDBF SHARE(*YES) in order to be useful. Is there a command with an OUTPUT(*OUTFILE), especially into QTEMP?

As Dennis said, what are the parameters in the OVRDBF command? They can be there for all kinds of reasons. I just hope one is NOT LVLCHK(*NO)!!!!
