Folks:
File this is the potentially dumb question category ... how can I
tell, from a joblog, if a backup went to a 2nd tape in a tape
library unit?
I'm expecting some kind of message in the joblog, but the joblog
is 3000 pages long so it will be a long search.
Is there a message id I should search for?
Try CPI671F.
Example:
Message . . . . : Cartridge 040A39 volume 040A39 mounted on device
MOPB4_3584.
Cause . . . . . : -- Cartridge 040A39 was successfully mounted on
resource TAP04 in device MOPB4_3584. The cartridge has a volume
identifier of 040A39. If the volume identifier now loaded is *N, then
the volume may not be readable or may be a non labeled tape volume. --
Mount requested by OS/400 at 01-09-10 01:00:59 and completed by device
at 01-09-10 01:01:39. -- To use resource TAP04, OS/400 resource manager
may have unloaded cartridge *N from resource TAP04. If the cartridge
unloaded is *N, then either an unload was not necessary, or OS/400
resource manager could not determine what was unloaded. -- Cartridge
040A39 may have been unloaded by OS/400 resource manager and is being
remounted. -- OS/400 resource manager may not know the cartridge was
previously mounted if the mount was requested from the device library
manager or from a media library device operator's panel. Recovery .
. . : No action required, this message is for informational
purposes only.
Technical description . . . . . . . . : If the media library device
does not have a bar code reader, the message may be a result of a
delayed inventory.
Thanks!
